Football Sunday! John loves football and while I'm not a huge fan, I enjoy a day of just hanging around and lounging. It's my first football season since I graduated and I'm enjoying not just studying all day long.
Of course, we're Eagles fans and since the Eagles were on at 4 pm today, I knew I needed to make a fun dinner that would keep John watching the game, not sitting at the table. Usually, I like us to eat dinner at the table. It's a nice tradition to set the table and enjoy talking while eating rather than watching tv. But some days, it's equally nice to enjoy a moderately healthy dinner while watching football. Hence, the pizza rolls.
Pizza Rolls
- Whole wheat pizza dough- I used premade from Wegman's. It's our favorite.
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- 1 container turkey pepperoni
- Fresh basil
I rolled out the pizza dough into a large square, then I lightly spread some pizza sauce on it and topped it with pepperoni and basil. After that, I rolled it up and then cut it into two inch pieces, like so.
I placed them on a foil lined baking sheet and cooked for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. I served the pizza rolls with more pizza sauce on the side for dipping.
To get some veggies into our dinner, I also sauteed some zucchini and topped that with a little bit of pizza sauce as well.
Off to watch more football. Go Eagles!
